HOMOPHONES

Homophones are words that are pronounced the same but differ in meaning and may differ in spelling.

Many people, no matter whether English is a first or second language, are often confused and get mixed up with the many homophones especially when in a spoken context.

How to differentiate between the homophones?

You can differentiate which homophone is used by the content of the sentence. 

E.G

Here – Hear

Here refers to being in, at, or to this place/position.

He lives here.

Hear means perceiving sounds by someone or something with your ears.

I can’t hear what you are saying!
